We haven’t done any hand prints for awhile and so we added some springtime to our classroom by making some handprint flowers…
The children started by making stems with strips of sponges dipped in green paint…
Then the children painted their own hands. Sometimes, I will have a child that may not like to get messy if I paint their hands but they don’t mind painting their own hands…
Then the children pressed their hands on the paper to complete their flowers…
Our flowers didn’t always end up exactly on the top of the stems since the children did this process all on their own. I explained to the children that we were using the paint to make handprint flowers and stems but then let the children explore the creative process from there…
And we had some beautiful handprint flowers as a result…
And you have to love this beautiful garden of flowers!
