Movement-Lots of great and Fun ideas. Loved all the prop ideas with the songs. Lots of Hands on.
Music and Movement I put into effect right away. It amazed me how song can direct, engage and lead a child. I will be honest, I did not have any “tools” ready and I made up words to tunes because I wanted to see my “kids” reaction when I would start singing a new song regardless of whether we lined up, got ready for lunch, sat for circle time, needed their attention etc. I have since made up songs but for now I am sticking to two or three because I am still not always “prepared” but this WORKS! WORKS! WORKS!”
The music and movement workshop shows how engaging music can be in gaining the children’s attention and keeping it!
Music and Movement – This workshop helped me and my class soooo much. It even made me feel better about myself as a preschool teacher and a person. I had heard of teachers using songs to transition from one activity to another. However, I had never seen it or really heard how to put song into action for transitioning purposes. It also seemed so foreign to me. I’m not really a sing song kinda gal. But after seeing and hearing Deborah use this awesome tool I decided to give it a try. I must admit though I felt pretty silly at first just blurting out into a song…..until I saw how quickly my students responded to them. I was hooked. I’ve even made up a few little ditties myself. I thank you, Deborah, and my students thank you too!”
