While the children are away, we like to play…

This week, our students are on spring break and normally, I would continue to share a daily post with you because regardless if the children are in school or not, Mrs. Courtney and I have so many photos of activities to share that it would take us months to get all caught up. However, I have made an executive decision to take the week off!

Spring Break for Teach Preschool

Mrs. Courtney has already prepared at least three new super fun posts to share with you but everything is going to go on hold until we return on Sunday, April 7th, 2013.  I know that seems like such a long time but this will give you a chance to look through my blog and see if there is anything you have missed and it will give Mrs. Courtney and I a much needed time to rest and spend time with our families…

Spring Break for Teach Preschool

My grandson and I have already been sneaking over to the classroom for a little bit of toddler play which I will also be telling you more about. There is always so many things to share but not enough days in the week or hours in the day to get it all in…

Spring Break for Teach Preschool

So while the children are away on spring break, my grandsons and I will play both inside and outside this next week…

Spring Break for Teach Preschool

Well, it won’t be all play for me. You see, I have to remember to water our plants in the classroom all week and then I need to do some classroom setup and rearranging, some serious organizing of my teaching supplies, a little lesson planning, and I hope to squeeze in a few DIY projects that I have been really wanting to do…

Spring Break for Teach Preschool

And just as a side note, I also have to complete the final edits of a new book I am writing which should be out by August. I will share more on this as soon as my publisher gives me the thumbs up that the book is really a book…

Spring Break for Teach Preschool

This will be my first real break since I started blogging back in 2009 so I think it is time to step away for a few days. While we are away, I hope you will share my blog with others and invite them to come and join us when we return on April 7th.  We have some wonderful ideas and classroom observations ahead to share with you!

Spring Break for Teach Preschool

Thank you for all you do for young children and for all the support you give to me here on Teach Preschool! I can’t express how deeply touched I am by the comments and emails you all leave. You inspire me!

    Enjoy your well-deserved break!

Yes, you certainly deserve a break. Your blog is wonderful. I share it with all the teachers in the public school early childhood program where I work. Additionally, you are top on my blog list on my own blog I started a few weeks ago (a grandma blog).
I’ve been working in early childhood for many years and have seen lots of changes in the educational approaches. You have managed to carry on the “old but good” approaches and blended them with the modern approaches/philosophies regarding children’s learning. Thank you for the wonderful work you do and the resource you provide to many early childhood teachers.

I know my classroom has been enriched by your blog. Have a great spring break. Enjoy the time with your grandson. I know I will be doing the same!

    Dear Deborah,
I want to take time to thank you for sharing your “best ideas” with all of us that love early childhood. Your blog celebrates the wonder, joy, and discovery in the children and in those of us who teach them. I love the integration of science, play, literature, and the total day that you so expertly describe in word and picture. Thanks again.

You most certainly deserve time off. I do want to take the time to thank you for all of the wonderful ideas you share with all of us early childhood teachers. Your creativity has certainly made a huge difference in my classroom this year! I too, just had a week off and got to spend some wonderful time with my two year old granddaughter! Tomorrow it is back to school……I’m thinking maybe a little “gummy worm science?!?!?!”. Who knows what will be next? Thanks again for giving this teacher some fun inspiration!
