My grandson loves his cars and trucks so I thought I would introduce him to a simple version of ramps and cars this week. I started by making a simple toddler-sized ramp that he could easily explore…

To make the ramp, I taped together two pieces of left-over foam board that I have had sitting on my dining room table for over a week. I was thrilled to find some use for the pieces of foam board to at least get them off the table for awhile…

While my grandson was off playing in the other room, I set up our new ramp by taping one end of the foam board ramp to a kid-size table leaving the other piece of foam board hanging over the edge of the table. After awhile, my grandson decided to drive the cars and trucks up the ramp. Well as you know, foam board will not hold up well to being climbed on so after it was bent up a little, my grandson figured out (with a little help from me) if he stood to the side of the ramp, he could drive back up…

Every time I think I know everything I need to know about teaching young children, God says, "Hold on a minute!" and gives me a new challenge.

Let me tell ya...

With each new challenge that you overcome, you will find yourself better equipped and more passionate about teaching young children.

God didn't call wimps to lead, teach, or care for His children. Nope, he has high expectations, so get ready. You will have to give your very best but after teaching for over 30 years, I can tell you that it is a wonderful and rewarding journey.

Whenever your calling feels hard, just remember, 'He who began a good work in you (and in the children you serve) will be faithful to complete it.'
