Wy is always playing with the chip clips around our house, so I thought I would integrate the chip clip play into a little chip clip painting…
I set out some chip clips, yarn, pieces of craft foam, and three colors of paint. Â To paint with the clips, the boys put the scraps of yarn or foam in their clips then dipped the scraps of materials into the paint…
Making the clips open and trying to pick up the materials with the clips is a great work out for fine motor skills and eye-had coordination…
For the child who doesn’t like to get hands messy with paint, the clips make a great paint brush handle…
Chip Clip Activity Box
I had a box of chip clips that I set out for a little magnetic fun with the chip clips…
Most of the chip clips seem to come with magnets on the back so I set out a plastic tray and a metal cookie sheet…
The transfer of the clips from the plastic tray to the metal tray didn’t seem all that interesting to me but it ended up being a rather intriguing idea to Wy. While he played, Wy would stop and squeeze the clip then work to figure out which part of the clip would stick to the metal pan…
Once all the clips were on the metal pan, we would take them off and start again…
In a way, the clips on the metal pan made their own kind of clip art…
For those of you who came here thinking you were going to find cute clip art that you can use in a newsletter or memo I do not want to disappoint you so try the links here and here!
By the way – I am having trouble getting my Facebook Like button to work. Is anyone else having this problem? It works on some posts but not on all. So weird.
