Build hand-eye coordination while learning through play!
I happened by this classroom as the children were playing this simple little bean bag toss game.
How the Game Works
As each child walked up to the line, he or she would choose a bean bag out of the basket, then the teacher would ask the child to announce the color of the bag or name the letter that was on the bag.
And then the child would toss the bag into one of the baskets!
Then they would run up and grab the bean bag out of the basket and then hurry up to get back in line for another turn.
The teacher would put a mark next to the child’s name each time the beanbag landed in a basket but I noticed that the children really were not paying attention to the scoring system!
Building Hand-Eye Coordination
I was intrigued by how much the children just loved taking a turn to play this simple game.
Learning through Play
Preschoolers love to play games and they do not have to be all that complicated. Most of the children could only make the bean bag land in the first basket but because there was no emphasis placed on the scoring system or no strong push to meet adult expectations, the children just relaxed and had fun. All the while, these children even got in a little color and letter review through their play!
