Time to create in preschool

Time to create in preschool

My teacher set the colored tape, black construction paper, scissors, and chalk on the table.

All I needed was a little time and the chance to do something all by myself.

I concentrated on my work.

The tape was sticky and I had to use my hands and my mind to figure out how to keep the tape from sticking together.

I made lines on my paper.

My lines began to form shapes

I had plenty of time to create more lines and more shapes.

My cutting skills were improving as I worked to cut the tape but I didn’t notice.

Some of my friends created their own shapes too! What shapes do you see?

This was fun and my confidence grew as I made my own decisions...

I am glad my teacher gave us time to create!

What a great idea Deborah. My tape obsessed preschoolers would love this.

my preschooler did this at school almost every day last year. She would bring home the biggest, bulkiest, glue-y-est, tape-y-est messes! Then, of course, wanted them proudly displayed! UGH! Drove me NUTS but was soOOOOOOO good for her!!! Most parents would complain…..LOL.

Haha – you are a sweet mom to display for her!

The international tape competition lives on!

I love the way you tell this story, Deborah. Perfect!

The school spent an entire week this summer on nothing but creating with tape. I wasn’t able to take photos of all the kids in action but I did get photos of their work. I plan to post more soon:) The competition does live on!!
