For this process, we used the same photos that I printed out for our DIY friendship blocks and I Spy Me pictures only this set of photos I laminated and added the children’s names on the bottom…
Most of the children didn’t play the game exactly like you would concentration because they were mostly interested in just finding their own photo. Instead, they would search through every photo until they found their own match…
Of course, like with every game I make for the children to explore, the rules of the game are left open for interpretation by the children. I much rather see the children searching through the photos looking for their name and picture at this stage than worrying about taking turns to make a match…
There were always one or more children stopping by to see if they could find their matching photos throughout the morning and while they played this game, they were also getting familiar with the faces of the other children in the room and being exposed to their names and all the other names in the classroom….
Some of the children did work together to play the game in their own way but as I mentioned, the rules of the game were designed by the kids which made this game a fun and interesting part of our morning…
