A colorful and tasty snack that your children will enjoy making!
Before I tell you about our rainbow toast, I want to mention that I have recently added a new search tool to my blog that will make searching for articles in my blog MUCH better. Â I hope you will give it a try! It is located in the upper right hand corner of my sidebar!
Rainbow Toast
We recently whipped up a little edible rainbow paint. The children started out by mixing up a little food color in cups of milk to make their rainbow paint…
The first thing we did with our rainbow paint is make rainbow toast for snack time…
Prepare the Ingredients
To make rainbow toast, all you need is…
- Bread
- Milk
- Food color
- Paint Brushes
- Toaster
The children used new, clean paint brushes to paint the rainbow paint on their toast….
Once the children completed the painting process, then they popped the toast in the toaster for a few minutes…
Enjoy a snack!
Then the children took their rainbow toast over to the table to eat up! Â Some of the children preferred to add a little bit of butter to their toast as well…
Process Art with Rainbow Paint
Once all the children had finished their snack, we still had all that rainbow paint left over so they asked if they could paint a picture with it….
So we cleaned up snack and set out paper along with the rest of our rainbow paint…
I did have to let the children know that these paintings would not be able to go home because they were painted with milk and that milk will sour or go bad after it is left out over night but this didn’t deter the children from wanting to explore the paint mixture anyway…
So we painted for awhile and the children loved it! I think making our own toast was fun for snack but painting on a larger canvas is always more interesting in the end…
