Best of 2011 and a Linky

Yesterday, I shared with you my Top Posts of 2011 according to Google Analytics. Today, I am joining a wonderful group of blogging buddies for the Best “individual posts” Of 2011 Linky.

Choosing my favorite

Trying to pick one favorite blog post when you blog every single day is a tall task. I don’t know if I really can say I have one favorite so I chose based on what is most meaningful to me about blogging. This post is meaningful because it magnifies all the things I love about blogging.  Blogging inspires me to think outside of the box. It inspires me to try new things I have never tried before. Each time I try something in my classroom and it goes well, I can’t wait to come home and write all about it so I can share it with you.

My Favorite Blog Post of 2011

So without any more procrastinating – I have chosen a post titled Making Fall Leaves In Preschool which could have been called Melted Crayon Art as my favorite post of 2011.

We used a candle warmer to melt crayons on our paper leaves and the kids loved this! I keep meaning to pull the warmers out again so we can try some other types of crayon melting art. The texture, color, and feel of melted crayon art is like no other kind of art!

Use any paper shape with this process! No reason to wait for fall for fun with crayon melted artwork…

Every time I think I know everything I need to know about teaching young children, God says, "Hold on a minute!" and gives me a new challenge.

Let me tell ya...

With each new challenge that you overcome, you will find yourself better equipped and more passionate about teaching young children.

God didn't call wimps to lead, teach, or care for His children. Nope, he has high expectations, so get ready. You will have to give your very best but after teaching for over 30 years, I can tell you that it is a wonderful and rewarding journey.

Whenever your calling feels hard, just remember, 'He who began a good work in you (and in the children you serve) will be faithful to complete it.'
