Painting with circles in preschool

We are off on a new adventure as we explore shapes over the next few weeks and today, we spent a little time painting circles…

Just to make it a little more interesting, I stapled groups of paper tubes together for the children to paint with.  I had tubes in groups of one, two, three, and four circles….

I also set out new colors of paint for the children to paint with.  It seems we have used so many fall colors lately that it was nice to see a little pink and purple on the table for a day…

We explore shapes all the time in our classroom but I like to highlight shapes throughout the year so today we just focused on making circles…

This last photo I am sharing just because I thought it was interesting to see this child examining the tube. You never know what will be of ultimate interest to a child in the process of creating…

Every time I think I know everything I need to know about teaching young children, God says, "Hold on a minute!" and gives me a new challenge.

Let me tell ya...

With each new challenge that you overcome, you will find yourself better equipped and more passionate about teaching young children.

God didn't call wimps to lead, teach, or care for His children. Nope, he has high expectations, so get ready. You will have to give your very best but after teaching for over 30 years, I can tell you that it is a wonderful and rewarding journey.

Whenever your calling feels hard, just remember, 'He who began a good work in you (and in the children you serve) will be faithful to complete it.'
