Teach Preschool in the news: exploring plants and nature

My little friend, Tristan was kind enough to join me on Indiana Fox 59 Morning News this week to explore a few ideas we can do with plants….

For this segment, I brought the last of my flowers saved from Mother’s Day and a few plants I had set aside…

Tristan showed how to take apart flowers and stick them on the clear contact paper canvas which you can read more about here…

Tristan also helped me demonstrate how you can save the flowers from a bouquet and use them as a paint brush which you can read more about here

Once we were all finished with our segment, Tristan and his dad took a few extra minutes to explore the television studio…

And before we left for the day, I added another sheet of clear contact paper to the front of our flower canvas so Tristan could take it home to share with his mom…

Thanks to my little friend Tristan and his parents for being such good sports and helping me share some simple ideas that preschoolers can explore…

Every time I think I know everything I need to know about teaching young children, God says, "Hold on a minute!" and gives me a new challenge.

Let me tell ya...

With each new challenge that you overcome, you will find yourself better equipped and more passionate about teaching young children.

God didn't call wimps to lead, teach, or care for His children. Nope, he has high expectations, so get ready. You will have to give your very best but after teaching for over 30 years, I can tell you that it is a wonderful and rewarding journey.

Whenever your calling feels hard, just remember, 'He who began a good work in you (and in the children you serve) will be faithful to complete it.'
