Rubber ducky stamping in preschool

I love digging through the activity boxes that our curriculum coordinator puts together and today she had this fun little rubber ducky box…

In the box there were rubber ducks and stamp pads of various sizes and colors…

I thought I would give this a try and see what happens. Rubber duckies are quite fun to print with! They are sqishy, squeaky, and leave egg shaped prints on the paper…

This activity box will be set out along with the other activity boxes next week so perhaps I will get to photo a few kids in action too. In the mean time, I was having fun…

For a different approach to this, one could use different colors of tempera paint instead of the ink stamps. The ink stamps were chosen so the children could try this through out the week as they would like…

Along with the rubber duck activity box, there will be books about ducks available too…

And I noticed these two interesting egg shaped stop and go signs sitting with the rubber ducky baskets. I have no idea what the plan is for them so I will have to be on the look out to find out:)

Here are a few other ducky activities to check out…

Every time I think I know everything I need to know about teaching young children, God says, "Hold on a minute!" and gives me a new challenge.

Let me tell ya...

With each new challenge that you overcome, you will find yourself better equipped and more passionate about teaching young children.

God didn't call wimps to lead, teach, or care for His children. Nope, he has high expectations, so get ready. You will have to give your very best but after teaching for over 30 years, I can tell you that it is a wonderful and rewarding journey.

Whenever your calling feels hard, just remember, 'He who began a good work in you (and in the children you serve) will be faithful to complete it.'
