Building traps to catch Lenny the Leprechaun in preschool

The children are preparing traps for Lenny the Leprechaun at our school…

I haven’t ever tried this myself so it was interesting listening to the teachers tell the children about how Lenny the Leprechaun is a trouble maker and causes big messes wherever he goes…

To catch Lenny the Leprechaun, the children have been creating Lenny the Leprechaun traps out of different sized boxes…

The traps need to be green because Lenny likes the color green best…

And for a little bait – the children added some Lucky Charms that lead to a pot of gold…

With all of this hard work, Lenny the Leprechaun is sure to be caught on St. Patrick’s Day but who knows what kinds of trouble he will cause between now and then!

Here are some ideas for making St. Patrick’s day fun…

Every time I think I know everything I need to know about teaching young children, God says, "Hold on a minute!" and gives me a new challenge.

Let me tell ya...

With each new challenge that you overcome, you will find yourself better equipped and more passionate about teaching young children.

God didn't call wimps to lead, teach, or care for His children. Nope, he has high expectations, so get ready. You will have to give your very best but after teaching for over 30 years, I can tell you that it is a wonderful and rewarding journey.

Whenever your calling feels hard, just remember, 'He who began a good work in you (and in the children you serve) will be faithful to complete it.'
