This past week the children explored their sense of touch, taste, smell, sight, and hearing. Let me show you what the children found in the “sense of smell” discovery center…
Smelly Cups

The children used their sense of smell to guess what each item was in the smelly cups.

Inside each cup was a variety of seasonings such as cinnamon, onion salt, pumpkin spice and chocolate and coffee.

After smelling the different seasonings, the children sorted the seasonings by which smells they liked and which smells they disliked.

I do this with my 2 yr old. I also match scents (you need 2 smelly cup for each scent to play matching game). Fun stuff!
